Welcome to Saskatoon’s Home of the Mezcalarita!

January 18, 2018

Right now Saskatoon feels about as far away from the tropics as you could be. Colder than Antarctica? No thank you. If you’re like us you’re craving warm winds, crystal blue waters, and sandy beaches.  Luckily for you, we are dedicated to bringing the sights, sounds, and flavours of the tropics to Saskatoon! Pull up a chair under a palapas at "The Beach", our famous resort themed lounge and try our new Mezcalarita. We guarantee you'll be warmed up in no time!

If you love traditional margaritas and like a little more flavour give Mezcalarita a try. This delicious drink is an updated version of the margarita with a slight smoky flavour.

The Recipe

  • 1oz Mezcal Bruxo
  • 1oz triple sec
  • 3oz fresh lime juice mix
  • Rimmed with sugar and cinnamon

Mez-what?

The word mezcal comes from the Nahuatl words metl and ixcalli, which together mean "oven cooked agave."

Mezcal is a close relative to tequila as it uses the same agave plant to produce the liquor but Mezcal can be made with up to 30 varieties of agave where tequila, by law, can only use the blue agave.

Mezcal is made by roasting the agave hearts in wooden pit ovens and covered with burning coals. This is what gives it its distinguished smoky flavor.

If you are looking for a mini winter escape the Mezcalarita is perfect. Take a sip and close your eyes; it’s a little slice of paradise.
